No public New Year's Eve fireworks are listed in Milton Keynes. Gulliver's display is for sleepover guests; Land of Lights opens 3.30pm, last entry 5.15pm.

We have found no public New Year’s Eve fireworks display in Milton Keynes for 2026. The only New Year’s Eve fireworks any organiser has announced are at Gulliver’s Land, and they are for families booked on its overnight package. Milton Keynes City Council does not run a display, and the city’s biggest ticketed fireworks show, SkyFest at the National Bowl, was held on 1 November last year. What you can do on Thursday 31 December is the Land of Lights trail, which opens early and closes before 7pm. Other venues are open in the daytime, and the panto and ice rink run through the holidays.

The quick answer

  • No public fireworks are listed for New Year’s Eve in Milton Keynes, from the council or any organiser, as of 25 October.
  • Gulliver’s Land has fireworks and a countdown, for sleepover guests only. You cannot buy a ticket for the display alone.
  • Land of Lights is open from 3.30pm to 6.45pm on 31 December, last entry 5.15pm. It is shut on 25, 26 and 27 December.
  • Bletchley Park is open on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day, 9.30am to 4pm, last admission 2pm.
  • Parking in central Milton Keynes is charged on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The only free day is Christmas Day.

Is there a fireworks display on New Year’s Eve?

Not one that is open to the public, on what has been published so far. We checked the city council, the town councils that run Milton Keynes’ Bonfire Night displays and the main venues. Wolverton, Newport Pagnell and Olney all hold their fireworks in early November, not at New Year. Our fireworks page has those.

New Year’s Eve parties at pubs, clubs and hotels are sold by each venue and change every year, so we do not list them here. If you are running a public New Year’s Eve event in Milton Keynes, email us (details at the bottom of this page) and we will add it.

Gulliver’s: fireworks for sleepover guests only

Gulliver’s Land is selling a New Year’s Eve Sleepover for Thursday 31 December. Its event page lists, for the first evening:

  • character dining and a family show
  • entry to the Land of Lights lantern trail and evening entertainment
  • “a spectacular fireworks display and New Year countdown”

On New Year’s Day there are family wellbeing sessions and activities, and a late checkout. Guests stay in one of the resort’s themed rooms or lodges.

Gulliver’s says the event “is only available with a sleepover booking”. There is no ticket for the fireworks on their own. Prices are only in the booking system, not on the event page.

Land of Lights: early evening

The lantern trail at Gulliver’s Dinosaur & Farm Park is open on New Year’s Eve, but with short hours. The organiser’s December calendar shows:

Date Hours Last entry
Monday 28 to Wednesday 30 December 4pm to 8.15pm 6.45pm
Thursday 31 December 3.30pm to 6.45pm 5.15pm

It is shut from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 December. Online tickets start at £13.75, according to the calendar page. Our Land of Lights page lists every open night through to February.

Open in the day on 31 December

  • Bletchley Park is open every day except 24, 25 and 26 December. Winter hours run from 1 November to 28 February: 9.30am to 4pm, last admission 2pm. (Bletchley Park) Our Bletchley Park winter page has the Christmas events.
  • Willen On Ice runs from 21 November to Sunday 3 January at Willen Lake, with tickets from £15.90 including skate hire. Willen Lake had not published its New Year’s Eve session times on its event page when we checked. Our ice rink page has the prices and parking.
  • Sleeping Beauty, Milton Keynes Theatre’s pantomime, runs from 5 December to 10 January. The theatre’s listing does not show its New Year’s Eve performance times outside the booking calendar. Our panto page has the details. (Milton Keynes Theatre)
  • L.S. Lowry: The Theatre of Life is at MK Gallery until 28 February. (MK Gallery)

Parking and getting home

Milton Keynes City Council says parking charges in central Milton Keynes apply from 7am to 6pm every day, “except for Christmas Day and Easter Sunday”. New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are charged at the usual rates during those hours. Our parking page has the tariffs.

Rail and bus operators have not yet published their New Year’s Eve timetables or last services. Network Rail is still to announce its Christmas and New Year engineering work on the West Coast Main Line; our Christmas trains page has what is booked so far. Check the roadworks and travel page before you drive across the grid.

Still to be confirmed

  • Any public New Year’s Eve fireworks or countdown event in Milton Keynes.
  • New Year’s Eve session times at Willen On Ice and the pantomime’s performance times on 31 December.
  • Late trains and buses on New Year’s Eve.

We will check again in December and update this page. Organisers can send details to hello@mkdaily.co.uk.
